Consciousness and Supramental

Posts by Anna Sclar

Consciousness must be present to power all other effects, as the electronic starter in an automobile engine. Otherwise,  there is only the engine with its physical spark plugs, but no electric spark to power it.

Radiation is “ transmutation in process of accomplishment….the passage across from one state of being to another, through the agency of fire“. This is the way consciousness evolves, building forms, outgrowing them and then building afresh, and at certain critical points, passing from one kingdom to another.

To understand this more fully we will also need to look at the evolution of consciousness in terms of fire a little later on.

Humanity, as a kingdom of nature, is currently ablaze with the fire of pain and suffering but experiencing a steady transmutation as a growing number of people move through, or towards, a radiatory state.

The idea of patterns and the idea of conditioning hold definite occult implications. The workers in this department of esoteric work deal primarily with the world of patterns which underlie all the activities of the Oversoul and the individual souls. Forget not that this term “individual souls” is but a limiting phrase, used by the separative mind to indicate the aspects of one reality  ,  which   Michael   Robbins  says  is  the greatest   heresy  of  manifestation.

Understanding  of  universality  and  synthesis —a law which will eventually emphasize the eternal brotherhood of man and the identity of all souls with the Oversoul,in the racial consciousness, as well as the oneness of the Life which pours through the entire solar system.

This Life functions therefore in and through all the planetary schemes, with their kingdoms of forms, and contains three great and basic ideas: the ideas of life, of matter and of evolution -  the birth,   creation  and  death,  as  inception  and  the   cause   of    new  birth.

These words indicate the urge to devaluate the unreal and the undesirable, to discipline the lower nature till those choices are readily and easily made which lead to the discarding of that which imprisons or impedes the soul.

The major  procedure  of  overcoming  the  limitations of   consciousness,  is through  various  identifications  and  self  observations  -  will free the soul from the world of forms and identify it, first of all, with itself (thus freeing it from the world illusion), and then with the world of souls, which is the consciousness of the Oversoul.

In terms of the esoteric sciences, we might say that a human being, like every other unit of life, is a vortex of force, a point of the divine life vibrating in matter at a specific pitch and frequency.

Desire for sensation causes the consciousness to reach outwards from the centre to the periphery of the vortex and build its identity around the outer senses where the frictional fires of life are experienced. Through the rotation of successive incarnations, these frictional fires stimulate, sensitise and refine the indwelling life.

In the physical body the eye views objects upside down.
It sends the image of what it observes to the brain which interprets the image . But the human body has another physical eye whose function has long been recognized by humanity.
It is called the ’Third Eye’ which in reality is the Pineal Gland. It is long thought to have mystical powers.
Many consider it the Spiritual Third Eye, our Inner Vision.
It is located in the geometric center of the brain. This correlates to the location of the Great Pyramid in the center of the physical planet.

This gland is activated by Light, and it controls the various biorhythms of the body.
When the pineal gland awakens one feels a pressure at the base of the brain. This pressure will often be experienced when connecting to higher frequency.
The third eye can see beyond the physical as is looks out through the chakra systemwhen we meditate or look for answers from higher frequencies.

Many native traditions and mystical practices refer to the ability of ’seeing,’ or being aware of energy fields at higher levels. This abstract awareness is much more subjective and does not involve the normal level of mundane consciousness, which is mostly concerned with self-identity. This ’seeing’ refers to the sight of the ’third eye’.

Consciousness is raised from an emotional nature into an illumined awareness when the pineal gland is lifted from dormancy. If the pineal gland is not yet fully developed, it will be in the course of evolution.

To activate the ’third eye’ and perceive higher dimensions, the pineal gland and the pituitary body must vibrate in unison, which is achieved through meditation and/or relaxation. When a correct relationship is established , a magnetic field is created.
The negative and positive forces interact and become strong enough to create the ’light in the head.’

The pineal gland corresponds with divine thought after being touched by the vibrating light of Kundalini. Kundalini starts its ascent towards the head center after responding to the vibrations from the ’light in the head.’ The light is located at the top of the sutratma, or ’soul thread’, which passes down from the highest plane of our being into the physical vehicle.

The ’third eye,’ or ’eye of Siva,’ the organ of spiritual vision, is intimately related to karma, as we become more spiritual in the natural course of evolution.

Flashes of intuition come with increasing consistency as the ’third eye’ as activated to a greater degree, through practice.

As human beings continue to evolve further out of matter, on the journey from spirit to matter back to spirit, the pineal gland will continue to rise from its state of age-long dormancy, bringing back to humanity astral capacities and spiritual abilities.

At certain brainwave frequencies, a sense of ego boundary vanishes. In the theta state, we are resting deeply and still conscious, at the threshold of drifting away from or back into conscious awareness. As the brain enters deeper states, our consciousness is less concerned with the physical state, our ’third eye’ is active, and separation becomes natural.

"Sacred traditions and metaphysical schools of thought generally agree that reality is multileveled and that each level of reality is composed of different energies or of matter with different degrees of vibration and density. In their totality, these energies and forms of matter constitute a spectrum of substance.

At one end of the spectrum is purely physical matter; at the other end is pure spirit prior to its manifestation as matter and energy. This spectrum of substance is one of the two primal forms of God constituting the cosmos.

The other is the spectrum of consciousness. Together, they are the inner and outer aspects of reality, the subjective and objective, the intention and extension of God.

Through our body-mind, we humans partake of all levels of reality, although we are generally unaware of the higher ones. Nonetheless, we retain the potential to awaken to the full spectrum of our being as consciousness and substance.

Furthermore, we have a form or container or vehicle for our consciousness on each of those levels—a vehicle that is composed from the substance of that level. Collectively these are called energy bodies. They can be seen as nested one within the other, and all are resident within the physical body, although their energies may extend beyond it.

At death, as the physical body decomposes, the other bodies withdraw from it, and the consciousness continues to function in other levels of reality. Those energy bodies have been given various names by various traditions.

In one tradition they are termed the gross, the subtle, and the causal levels and bodies. In another they are the termed koshas or "sheaths" of finer and finer substance enfolding the physical body.

In the Christian tradition it is called "the resurrection body" or "the glorified body." St. Paul called it "the celestial body" or "spiritual body."
In the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo it is called "the Divine Body," composed of supramental substance.

The process involves the Triple Transformation, where one moves from the outer surface consciousness to the inner consciousness; the inner mind, the subliminal within, until one reaches the personal soul, i.e. inner psychic consciousness.

At a further phase one rises higher in one's being toward higher planes of mind, including Higher Mind, Illumined Mind, and Intuitive Mind. It is an opening to the presence above, an elevation of one's lower consciousness to the higher, and the descent of the higher into the lower.

Beyond that still is the Supramental transformation, where one rises to the level of Supermind, that transcends beyond the mental, vital, and physical. One can become the Supramental being.

When one opens to the Supramental Consciousness, one can transform the nature, enable falsehoods to evaporate, create knowledge where there is ignorance, sets problems right, gives the full truth and knowledge, that can transcend space and time, etc.

A person would know all things in its oneness, and have the object of knowledge inside him. He would be the knowledge. His emotions would be of love and oneness with others. This individual's body would have great perfection. He could live as long as he wishes and thespiritual pleasure would flows through the body.

In the Supramental world, the more one is conscious and in contact with the truth of things, the more the authority has the will over the substance. The will acts directly in the substance, and the substance is obedient to the will. . A person's will has the power to transform matter as one likes.

One no longer legitimizes the (old mental) materials laws of the world, including the laws of the body (its needs, health, nourishment, etc.). When in the new consciousness all these things which appear so concrete, disappear. One no longer lives these assumptions, so that we can create endless miracles at this material plane.

Mind in the Body Learns. Today when we want the body to learn a new skill – driving, typing, learning a new language, etc. – we use the instrumentation of the mind. The learning is then transferred to the body by training through the mind's knowledge and understanding.

However Sri Aurobindo and The Mother brought a new perspective; that the body could learn directly, that there is within the body itself its own center of mind. Then the body, instead of receiving through the mind, is able to receive directly through the mind center within itself. This reception is infinitely greater.

Thus the body is capable of learning and being transformed, (e.g. healing, infinite life, new organs, change in cell constituents, etc.) directly through its mind center from the Force directly, rather than having to go through the mind and vital centers of the being.
