Although maybe you have not thought about it before, however, all the needs of this pyramid are known to you. You were aware of their existence. But do you know what drives and inspire your spiritual development? The 9 unconscious needs according to Michael’s teaching. They include security, adventure, freedom, expansion, strength, expression, acceptance, communion, and exchange.

The ego and its attachments.

As you know, your identity, or the ego, is built of various habits, bonds, relationships, beliefs, and values that shape your reality. They determine all the decisions you make in life. However, not only them but also your opinions and opinions of your surroundings. They are an inseparable part of you and determine the awareness of who you are. In other words, who you are is a collection of all those.

In this article you will learn:
  • How the ego attachments work on a specific example.
  • 5 levels of beliefs: true self, preferences, identity, internalization, and fanaticism.

Your faith in what is truth shapes all your bonds and emotional reactions. What meets you in life, what you see is automatically adjusted to your value system by your ego.
Instead of experiencing what is you constantly explaining, justifying, and judging your life in order to adapt it to your beliefs. Instead of enjoying what is you are still telling yourself a story by filtering your life through your beliefs. You spend years getting attached to them to varying degrees in order to feel safe. The more you get attached to something, the less you see it.
When you begin to realize the functioning of this mechanism, you will begin to understand superstitions and fanatical worship for your addictions and blind compliance with once adopted rules.

What does it mean?

For example, if you’ve always had a two-course dinner at home: soup and main course. That’s what dinner looks like for you, for your ego. When you eat a sandwich instead of dinner understood that way, it will not be dinner for you, because there was no soup and main course. It doesn’t matter if you had a meal and you don’t feel hungry. You will still think that you did not eat your dinner today, despite having satisfied your hunger at the right time. This is just a simple example, now imagine how it works with really important things. Crazy, right?
These established habits do not allow you to focus on the present moment. They make you dream of a past that no longer exists, or threaten you with the future, instilling unreasonable fears and taking away peace. How does this apply to sandwiches? Well, you are not happy that you ate it, you do not feel the taste, you do not savor it. Either you are worried that you will be hungry because you did not eat dinner, or even sick because you ate only a sandwich and not a full-fledged dinner. Has it no sense? But that’s how the ego works. Things you are used to are beginning to shape your experience and limit the perception of reality outside of your concepts. Like you were blind.
Throughout your life, the ego constantly talks or comments on everything you do, say, see, touch, feel, taste, and hear. This internal narrator keeps the flow of events plugging the main thread, not noticing the millions of side threads that unfold without your participation.

5 levels of attachments.

All attachments of your ego can be divided into 5 levels with different levels of intensity. They show how attached and enslaved you are to your own point of view and how open you are to other opinions and possibilities.
The knowledge and information you receive is shaped and deformed by your inner narrator – your thoughts. When you believe in something so much that you begin to lose awareness of yourself, you allow prejudices to work for you. That is why it is very important to know the degree of one’s attachment to each individual belief. Being aware of these phenomena, you regain the power to make independent decisions.
Your point of view creates reality when beliefs dominate you, your reality becomes rigid, non-developmental, and overpowering. You are doomed to restrictions because you lose the ability to understand that you can free yourself from them. You begin to convince yourself that you are unacceptable in its present form. Therefore, you have to meet some expectations to deserve your own love. It seems to you that to be worthy of your love you must live in accordance with the expectations that you set for yourself. You try to test yourself in tasks that you came up with yourself.

Meanwhile, who you are does not require any translation.

It’s just you.

You are perfect as you are at the moment, and that’s enough to enjoy life. The world and everything that exists in this world, and thus you, is perfectly perfect by the very fact that it exists, at this particular moment, in the only way it can exist.
When you are too attached to this reality that you have created for yourself, you block changes and leave no room for development and growth. You fight, quarrel with others (and with each other) to strengthen your beliefs and definitions of how the world works. You become a prisoner of your own views. Meanwhile, changes are inevitable and take place throughout your life. Love ends, you lose your job, discover the first gray hair, experience the death of a loved one, etc.

Level 1: Your Authentic Self.

The first level of attachment is the Authentic Self. A living being with full possibilities. This force that not only nourishes the body, but also the mind and soul. It never leaves you, but you forget about it through all your bonds and attachments. It is this harmony of mind, body, and soul, harmony with everything, and the energy of life that permeates you. Unity with the Creator. A community between you and all creation. Awareness training, spiritual practices introduce discipline and strengthen the will, which will help you stay in this state longer – if you choose. In this state, you have enormous strength for unconditional love.

Level 2: Preference.

At this level, you are still acting with the awareness of the Authentic Self, but you already recognize in yourself the possibility of bonding with something that at the moment moves you, but you are able to reject all bonds when this moment passes. You are self-aware and you respect yourself when you enter into relationships with people around you who imitate some image or mask on you. Don’t forget that it’s just a game and you free yourself from it at the end of the fun.

How does it look in practice?

For example, you decided to eat a healthy diet and after learning about the available sources of knowledge, you decided on a vegan diet, excluding all products of animal origin. You’ve made your choice, but you don’t identify yourself as a vegan yet, so if you happen to eat an egg because you felt like it, you’ll do it without judging yourself and then go back to your diet.

Level 3: Identification.

At this level, you begin to feel the need to name, describe, and understand the things you struggle with. Knowledge will help you understand the world and the universe, but when you come to understand yourself, your identity turns out to be a symbol, wrapped in an element of your knowledge. As you attach to your own identity, knowledge, and consensus become more and more important to you, to the point that they give sense and meaning to your entire life. You build a mask of your identity and transform it into the deification of the acquired knowledge.

How does it look in practice?

You start to define yourself as vegan, which symbolizes your preferences, even when they are not just about food. Vegan identity gives purpose and indicates your place in the community. If you ate an egg at this stage, you would feel disappointed in yourself and your choice, but after a while, you would absolve yourself and go further.

Level 4: Internalization.

At this level, your identity becomes a model of self-acceptance. This is domestication through attachment. At this level, your inner narrator begins to set conditions that lead to the domestication of identity. You begin to focus on internalizing the idealized version of your identity and present a false image of yourself only to ensure acceptance (conditional love). You lose respect for yourself and other people.

How does it look in practice?

You use your vegan identity as a catalyst for conditional love. To earn your own love, you must be an orthodox vegan and you have no right to go astray unless you want to feel the anger of your inner narrator.
You surround yourself with other vegans who confirm your superiority of being vegan by judging yourself or others. And you are constantly persuading the people you love to change their diet. You feel sorry for them that they are not ready to accept your point of view.

Level 5: Fanaticism.

This degree is already deep bondage and attachment to knowledge with extreme intolerance to opposite views. It derives from the need to believe in something 100%, even if the meaning of this something results solely from a contract concluded by others.

How does it look in practice?

For example, you can try to convince your partner of your diet. You bother giving him an identity that you believe is only right. Threaten to break up with any rebellion on his part. You don’t stop pressure to win or break up.

In the course of life, you naturally change from one level of attachment to another. Sometimes you drown out consciousness, and sometimes you reject attachment by unlocking your own authenticity. You have experiences from different levels in different periods of your life.

Awareness of your own bonds and beliefs is the starting point for all renewal processes.

Identifying what you are inclined to, what you identify with, and why you fanatically adhere is the first step to discovering your own True Self. Accepting the truth, whatever it is at the moment, means accepting yourself as you are, along with relationships, dependencies, and everything else.
So, what are you, if not your identity or your True Self? Who you are? Here are the key questions on the spiritual path. Unfortunately, the answers cannot be put into words. You know you exist and you are not this body, this mind. You are a living being who breathed life into both body and mind.

Karma

Source: https://www.ajourneytoyourself.com/karma-what-is-it

From the moment when your soul first appears in the physical plane as a baby soul in your first life, all you want and what you aim for is to unite with everything that exists. Doesn’t matter if you realize it or not. The only thing that controls you is longing for this unification. But how to achieve it? What does your soul do in this direction?

  • What karma is.
  • How to deal with it.
  • You will learn 7 levels of karmic debts: simple exchange debt, support, or a break in the everyday flow, emotional attachment, personal power, expression, integrity debt, the debt of personal knowledge.

You know that you have lessons to learn, tasks to do, and experiences that you need to experience. You have a plan that you should stick to. Although due to circumstances and your free will, you won’t comply with it in 100%. However, you have a chosen direction in which to follow. You know also what circumstances you can meet on the route. It is a bit like your internal google maps with a set route and current traffic status on the road.
You also know that on your way, at some stage, you will meet your travel companions who will help you in your travel and plan implementation. But how people connected with you will help you complete your task or do your homework? The concept of karma and contracts appears here.

What is karma?

Certainly, you have heard this concept more than once, or you even used it yourself, but do you know what it means? What is karma?
Karma is an intense emotional experience with someone which causes some imbalance in the participants. Therefore, each participant in this experience must go through it again, but his time from the perspective of the second participant in this experience.
For example, if you rob someone, the other person will rob you, so that you both experience both sides of the intensity of this event. If you will, for example, persecute someone because of sexual orientation, in the next incarnation you will have a different sexual orientation and you will be persecuted. Karma is an extreme experience and it is equivalent by experiencing the opposite of this experience.
In one lifetime you will not get all karma returned, so you need many lives to pay off all your karma. In this way, you will learn wisdom and balance. And the universe itself will remain in balance. You will always experience two sides of the coin.
People in karmic situations will behave illogically to outsiders. Sometimes they are even accused of lack of character. They are not able to receive any advice from an outsider, they are unable to change their behavior, they feel compelled to be stuck in a given situation, and to continue it until the end.
There is no such concept as bad or good karma. It all depends on the reception of its intensity by you.
Karma just happens, you don’t have to initiate it. When you approach a karmic situation, you can decide that you will not take it. You can put it away for later or for another life. But when you get into this situation, you have to stay there until the very end.
You will notice that this is the end because the whole intensity of this situation will disappear.

How to deal with karma?

First, you must recognize that you are in a karmic situation and try to make it as enjoyable as possible for you. Do not fight it, do not try to make it more difficult than it is. We play a lot of karmic situations at the beginning of our lives, in our youth.
When you are near someone with whom you have strong karmic ties, you can be drawn into the vortex of emotions and other forces that you do not understand. Sometimes you can feel blinded. The more you try to maintain objective, neutral awareness, the better you can cope with this situation.
Sometimes you may even have the feeling that you have a lot of repayment karma and you know it will not be pleasant. You may even be scared, but the more you prepare yourself for this situation, the more resistant you will be to it.

There are also specific varieties of karma such as sexual karma or self-karma.

The first one is very obvious and intense. It concerns a situation in which you are obsessed with some people for no apparent reason. The intense sexual desire of another person, despite the lack of similarities. You have nothing to do but you can not break your relationship. And then suddenly, without a reason, you finish the relationship. In such a relationship you have no choice, you can not want it, hate it, or love it, but you can not stop.
Self-karma is a challenge that you have taken up in your life. It may apply to other people, but without involving them. For example, you always attract one particular type of man. Your lesson is that you have to learn how to deal with them, how to preserve your self-esteem in your relationship of how to avoid them. They do not necessarily have to have some karma with you. If this man does not feel the intensity of the relationship with you, he remains neutral, it is not a karmic relationship. Only you have karma to yourself in this case.
Another example of self-karma may be addictions or other challenges that you can not overcome and you feel are karmic. Fighting this karma will only drive the intensity of this challenge. The best way to survive it is tolerance and acceptance. Understanding the factors that trigger your own karma will also help you reduce its negative effects.
The process of balancing karma is called karmic debt.
There are 7 levels of karmic debts, of which 80% of those you usually deal with in life are those from level 1-4. Repaying debt from the seventh level usually takes several lives.

Level one – a simple exchange debt.

It’s about a situation where you made me a favor, so I am giving you a favor. It serves to remind us of the larger debts from previous lives. Simple debts often to pay off immediately.

Level two – support or break in the everyday flow.

This debt concerns situations involving the loss of trust in another person, eg. someone will betray someone.

Level three – emotional attachment.

It usually applies to pets, children, relatives, good friends, and important material things. It applies to things to which one of the parties is emotionally attached. For example, someone kidnapped somebody’s child.

Level four – personal power.

It applies to situations in which your sense of personal power has been violated, i.e. the place where you live or work or something you identify with, e.g. someone has burned your home.

Level five – expression.

This applies to situations that affect who you are. Your way of expressing yourself, e.g. your life. So, for example, the murder will be a karmic debt from the level.

Level six – integrity debt.

It’s about a situation where libel or slander has occurred in a way that ruined someone’s reputation. For example, slavery, imprisonment, mutilation.

Level seven – the debt of personal knowledge.

It concerns the situation related to your ability to connect the situation with something bigger, the universe. This applies to leaders who intentionally crease false, negative, or destructive information or beliefs that harm others.
As part of your self-awareness exercise, you can try to look at your life from a karma perspective. Take a list of karmic debt levels and try to identify people and events that seem to you the most complicated to interact with. Probably it will be your karmic relationships. You can also try to arrange them by level.

Gravity Center Personality

Source: https://www.ajourneytoyourself.com/centers-gravity-center-personality/

Centers the gravity center of your personality.

Another part of spiritual development is understanding the functioning of your operating centers, the gravity center of your personality. They are the next soul overlay after attitude. That is your center of gravity, which manages how you experience life and how you express your reaction to the experience.

In this article, you will learn what personality operational centers are (instinctive, intellectual, moving, emotional, higher emotional, higher moving, and higher intellectual).

The functioning of the center is to understand how people react to various stimuli around them. For example, people who are intellectually oriented perceive the world as reality itself and are not able to understand how an emotionally centered person perceives the world.
We distinguish 7 types of centers, of which only 3 are used every day as: emotionalintellectual, and physical; 2 are rarely available: a higher emotional and higher intellectualhigher physical, and instinctive center that works in the background of our lives.
Higher centers are transformational states of consciousness and do not dominate our experiences. They occur mainly during meditation or peak experiences activated through music, art, and sex.

The main centers are our habitual operating centers.

We can also divide them into three parts: emotional, intellectual, and moving.
The soul chooses the main center among 3 and one of these 3 secondary parts between which we can slide. During the whole life, you most often use the basic center and the slide to the preferred part is usually a secondary response.  Your soul can not choose a higher center because they are too intense and the physical body is not adapted to them.
Centers are the most significant part of the person through whom others perceive them.

The Instinctive Center.

It governs the autonomic functions of the body: blood circulation, breathing, body growth, five senses. And also memories from previous lives, survival instincts, fears, and reflexes. It also directs emotions that are not based on any specific reasons, such as liking or disliking some smell. Energy formulas from the last life are entered into this center and transferred to the next life. For example, if in a previous life you died by drowning, you will have this fear in your next life until you change it. This is also a temporary control of those who are, for example in a coma.

The Intellectual Center.

This center associate with mental activity. A man with an intellectual center first thinks, perceives it rationally. They reacts to the environment thinking about them. They calls and defines everything to be able to talk about is and process it intellectually. Processes incoming stimuli immediately by analyzing them.
Having an intellectual center does not automatically mean you that you are an intellectual. You may also be less intelligent but react with this center. People with this center react rather slowly, compared to those emotionally controlled.
In this center, we process reading, writing, and speaking. Very often people place their consciousness in this very center, which is not true because consciousness is a neutral observer of al internal and external experiences.
The advantage of having a strong intellectual center is thought. Such people have constantly busy minds, constantly think, and process data in their heads. They must understand everything rationally. Sometimes they even have problems with falling asleep, because they can not turn off their thoughts.
The disadvantage of having a command center in the intellect is mind, going to the extreme. This means that these people are too logical and too methodical. And also the lack of warmth in personal relationships.
The intellectual center with an intellectual part – “I think so I am”, self-awareness, creating concepts, and coming up with a new concept.
The intellectual center with the movement part is that you are taking action based on your thoughts. You put aside emotions. E.g. preparing a list of things. Very often, this is centered on old souls who want to rest from the emotionalism of mature souls.
The intellectual center with an emotional part is that you first think and then feel. For example, choosing a book to read is the operation of this center. You are thrilled with ideas, theories, events, etc. Such people are very good at communicating with others, that’s why they have many friends.

The Moving Center.

It means that people with this center experience life through physical movement and action. This is particularly evident in the example of children. Those of them who can not sit still, and still have to do something, are just centered in this way. A person with this center will first feel emotionally or intellectually.
This center controls the learning of walking, speaking, expression, posture, and the mechanics of sexual intercourse.
People with this center have a high tolerance for repetitive tasks and routines. They have very good contact with their bodies and are able to kinaesthetically determine if something is wrong. They have very good coordination. Most often athletes, dancers, inventors, travelers or surgeons have the center.
The advantage of having this center is durability. The disadvantage is the energy that can cause people with such a center to be nervous, restless, and even hyperactive.
The moving center with the moving part is that you move without thinking or feeling anything about the movement, eg. running on a treadmill. When you are emotionally neutral and intellectually empty.
The moving center with an intellectual part is based on a demanding thinking movement. Usually, architects, inventors, actors have it. In a negative aspect, this can be seen in spending time playing computer games.
The moving center with the emotional part is that people release emotions through movement. For example, in times of stress, they perform home activities like washing dishes, vacuuming. It can also manifest in a negative way as compulsive shopping or gambling.

The Emotional Center.

People with this center experience life through their feelings and emotional relationships with others. Perception – learning the truth on a non-physical, non-verbal, and non-intellectual level. It is a favorite center of mature souls because it allows for greater intensity of relationships. People with this center are warm, tender, compassionate, and caring. They like to cuddle and have strong tastes and dislikes. They are valued as friends.
The advantage of this center is sensitivity. The downside may be sentimentality resulting from the fear of physical loss (that is why, for example, collect souvenirs) or the loss of physical contact (sense of loneliness).
The emotional center with an emotional part – pure emotion and pure perception, for example, joy, happiness, or sadness that comes out of nowhere.
The emotional center with a movement part depends on acting under the influence of one’s emotions eg. jumping with joy.
The emotional center with the intellectual part is about intellectualizing your perception and feelings, for example, perceiving that one task is more important to you than the other.

The Higher Emotional Center.

It is the feeling of unconditional love – agape. Recognition on the emotional level of your connection with other people, with animals and with plants. Emotional healing.
