The Power of Subtle Activism

Expand your ability to access higher realms and take your spiritual practice to the next level of world-shifting impact.

Explore exciting frontiers of spiritual transformation in community with other pioneers at the leading edge of meditation, prayer and collective intention.

If you’re like so many spiritual practitioners, you’ve been fascinated by the growing body of scientific and anecdotal evidence that shows we have an ability to affect things at a distance — from the power of prayer to measurable effects from global meditations to the ability of shamans, yogis and qigong masters to heal others from afar.
A new wave of research on things like the Maharishi Effect, which has demonstrated reductions in crime rates in parallel with group meditations, and experiments like the Global Consciousness Project are providing evidence that supports the power of consciousness work as a way to create positive social change.

And while all of the research is likely fascinating for your mind, you probably have an even stronger pull on your heart to explore this leading-edge work as you witness so much war, conflict and ecological devastation on the planet. Our hearts ache and even break as we see the level of unnecessary violence playing out on the world stage. Our hearts call for us to do SOMETHING to uplift humanity and address these situations.

So how you can bring together your heart and mind and integrate your spiritual practices with real social healing?

In a phrase: subtle activism.

Subtle activism is both a new discipline and a growing movement that brings together spiritual practices with emerging insights into how we can begin to shift our world in a positive direction through the power of our individual and collective consciousness.

Subtle activism both opens intriguing new horizons of transformational practice, AND serves as a way to integrate inner development with outer engagement — bonding communities together in a mission of healing and positive change. And not only is there evidence for positive impact collectively, there is also a beautiful secondary effect of increased hope and co-creative energy for the subtle activists themselves.
In the past, these domains were often considered too speculative and “far out,” but now we’re moving into an era in which we are starting to understand how transformational practices can extend the capacities of our minds, broadcast the love in our hearts, and begin to affect the “collective field” in a way that helps to heal social wounds, clear past traumas and reduce humanity’s propensity to violence and crime.
In this way, our spiritual practices can evolve beyond personal liberation alone to helping address “hot spots” in the world — areas of real suffering — or even major political processes involving millions of people.
The research is also beginning to show that advanced meditative and healing practitioners are better than novices at creating these shifts non-locally — implying it’s a skill we can each develop.

That’s part of why the field of subtle activism is gaining momentum as a legitimate area for inquiry and focused practice. Subtle activism also gives us unique insights into group and collective practices, from ceremonies to simultaneous meditations.
There are few people who have explored this area in as much depth and breadth as Dr. David Thomas Nicol, the author of the acclaimed 2015 book Subtle Activism and the host of the recent Subtle Activism Summit, as well as the co-founder of the BeThePeace annual global meditation on the International Day of Peace, which had more than 1400 participating locations worldwide in 2015.
In his first-ever online Subtle Activist Training, David will show you how you can harness the power of your spiritual practices for greater good, to affect positive change in the world — and yourself. He’ll distill more than a decade of research into a concrete set of insights and practices that can open up a whole new domain for your spiritual growth and service.
He’ll take you step-by-step through the theory and techniques that allow you to engage in effective subtle activism as both a participant and organizer, as you build a field of co-creative exploration that can help shift our world.
And the best part of this work is that the benefits not only ripple out into our society but they also flow into yourself. A great deal of experience shows that when individuals work in subtle activism, they become more energized, joyful and hopeful. The experience of entering into a “group mind” leads to a feeling of oneness. As a result, people connect more deeply, feel like they’re part of a soul family, access more life force and collaborate more actively on worldly projects.
In other words, subtle activism builds a sense of real community and larger purpose, while empowering actions in the manifest realm as well.

It thus serves as an important way to advance beyond purely solo practices, which can limit our collective growth potential. By learning to consciously step into larger fields of intention, practice and work, we release the self-serving and self-seeking impulse of the ego and experience ourselves as part of a larger whole. This work, in turn, acts as a bridge to support collective awakening and transformation through direct experiences of global oneness.

The Science behind Chakras

There is much controversy associated with the existence of CHAKRAS. Many consider them to be a theory with no real backbone. Some believe they are the source of our wellbeing. And others even believe they are the key to enable our spiritual connection to the Universe.

So what are the Chakras?

shutterstock_187065806(1)

Chakras were first described in the Hindu Scriptures (The Vedas) thousands of years ago, and literally means ‘wheels‘ of energy. They predominantly deal with energy flow in the body and are said to be focussed areas (or vortices) of high, expansive energy, within multiple locations in the body.
There are thought to be 114 Chakras within the body in total, but 7 main Chakras spanning from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, and are considered to follow the curvature of the spine.
Connected to these Chakras, there are said to be Nadis (literally translates to RIVERS in Sanskrit). These Nadis are considered to be the vessels through which energy flows, from the chakras to the rest of the body.

‘Everything is Energy’. This is a widely accepted theory in Quantum Physics and a scientifically proven fact.  In religion and spirituality, the movement of energy is the central, and fundamental, core around which many traditions are based. Ancient practices such as Reiki, QiGong and Tai Chi focus on the manipulation of energy to achieve well being.

We like to think of space as empty and matter as solid. But in fact there is nothing to matter when you look at it at a subatomic level, most of what is contained within an atom for example is 99.9% space. It is mostly unsubstantial.

Everything connects via magnetic energy and is electrical energy.

All matter is held together via energetic bonds and consist of these atoms, of which most, is space. The movement of energy is vital to life. When we think, breathe, function or even when we are resting, electrical energy is flowing through our bodies via our neurones and nerve pathways.
The position of the major chakras correspond to the major nerve plexus’ or nerve ‘bundles’.

shutterstock_181069166 (1)

Now for some Biology:

By far, the most energetic processes within our bodies are caused by our nerve tissues and specifically our nervous system. The nervous system is that part of our body, that coordinates its voluntary and involuntary actions, and transmits signals to and from different parts of the body and brain. The ‘communication‘ of the body, if you will.

The nervous system is composed of two main parts:

The Central Nervous System (CNS) within the brain and spinal cord, and
The Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) ,which connects the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body, via little ‘river‘ like nerve fibres (Nadis!). This system is what correlates with the chakras.
There are different categories of nerve bundles within the PNS, but the most relevant to the Chakras is the AUTONOMIC nervous system of the PNS. This deals with the involuntary or automatic responses within the body. For example – digestion; our heart rate, sneezing, swallowing and breathing. All these processes are regulated by the hypothalamus.

The Autonomic Nervous System is further divided into the Sympathetic Nervous System (activated in emergencies to move energy, the ‘fight and flight’ responses) and the Parasympathetic Nervous system (activated when ‘resting and digesting’).

It is the Parasympathetic Nervous System (part of the automatic nerve response system) which has the greatest relevance to the areas where the Chakras are thought to be located.

-Graphics-Major Endocrine Glands
The diagram above shows where these  major nerve plexus’ (or networks) of the Parasympathetic Nervous System lie. The brain actually connects to these parts of the body via the ‘big-dog’ of the nervous system – the big, fat, juicy,  VAGUS nerve – the 10th cranial nerve (cranial meaning, out of the cranium/skull).

The Vagus nerve is considered the ‘Holy Grail’ of all nerves. Where the major networks of nerves are, they correspond with the glandsin our bodies – So I guess the question to ask is – why do glands require so much electrical input?

The diagram below shows the position of the various Chakras. Notice how they correlate to the above diagram:

As mentioned above, these nerve ‘bundles’ are associated with major GLANDS in our body. Glands secrete hormones into the bloodstream and are HUGELY important in the functioning of our bodies, more so than what a lot of people realize!

Hormones are critical players in the body’s chemistry and stimulated by the Vagus nerve.

shutterstock_126081023 kopi

They (as well as nerves) carry messages between cells and organs and affect many aspects of our bodily processes, from growth through childhood, sexual development, mood, to how well we sleep, how we manage stress, brain functioning and even how we break down food.

In fact, the gradual decrease in hormone production over time, is what leads to the aging process!

Other hormones, such as DMT (Dimethyltryptamine), secreted by the pineal gland in the brain, is known to cause Out of Body Experience, heightened creativity and even psychic abilities!

The Biology in a nutshell:

The Chakras are associated with the major nerve networks within the body, which connect from the brain/spine, via the major Vagus nerve, to the glands responsible for hormone production and the functioning of the body in general.

THE VAGUS NERVE and KUNDALINI:

The Vagus nerve is considered the ‘holy grail’ of the nervous system and it mostly conveys sensory information about the state of the body’s organs to the Central Nervous System. Once it leaves the brain it winds its way down the body, and around the internal organs.

One key role that the Vagus nerve plays, is as the ‘reset’ button, to counteract our internal, automatic, ‘alarm’ system, resulting in the fight and flight response – a key culprit in stress and depression. Therefore stimulation of the Vagus nerve may lead to some very positive health benefits, especially in a society which is suffering from the effects of subconscious fear (fear of stability, the status of our jobs, terrorist attacks, money, and so on and so forth!)

kundalini-serpent-power
The Kundalini Serpent

The Kundalini is the ancient description for the energy (or shakti) present within our bodies. It is said that the kundalini stems from the base of the spine and winds its way up to the top of the head, and is often compared to a snake or a serpent.

‘Kundalini awakening’ is said to result in deep meditation, enlightenment and deep sense of bliss. It is said that this Kundalini ‘snake’ coils 3 times as it travels up the spine. Guess what – The Vagus nerve connects precisely 3 times to the spine!

Although the ancient descriptions are considered a little far fetched, it appears perhaps they used metaphors for very accurate information related to our wellbeing. It sounds like the ancients were on to something!

There are over 13000 studies on the Vagus nerve, and it is well documented that Vagus Nerve Stimulation can assist in a multitude of illnesses, such as treatment-resistant Depression and certain forms of Epilepsy. The great news is that the most effective, natural method for stimulating the vagus nerve is deep belly breathing (also known as Pranayama in ancient Indian culture), meditation and exercise. (Sounds a lot like Yoga – don’t you think?)

Quantum Physics has already proven that observation affects matter. (See the article on this HERE). Since all of matter is energy organised in a particular arrangement, perhaps the ancient traditions of observing your thoughts, or placing your attention and awareness on the Chakras, bears real weight! Especially when it comes to creating real changes within the body.

For me, personally, Meditation and Chakra Activating has changed my life and I would urge you to give it a go!

The 7 Universal Laws

By Tania Kotsos

There are seven Universal Laws or Principles by which everything in the Universe is governed. The Universe exists in perfect harmony by virtue of these Laws. Ancient mystical, esoteric and secret teachings dating back over 5,000 years from Ancient Egypt to Ancient Greece and to the Vedic tradition of Ancient India, all have as their common thread these seven Spiritual Laws of the Universe. Once you understand, apply and align yourself with these Universal Laws, you will experience transformation in every area of your life beyond that which you have ever dared to imagine.

The Immutable and the Mutable: Of the seven Universal Laws, the first three are immutable, eternal Laws, meaning they are Absolute and can never be changed or transcended. They have always existed and will always exist. The other four laws are transitory, mutable Laws meaning that they can be transcended or at least "better used" to create your ideal reality. This is not to say that you should ignore these four Laws or attempt to defy them for even if you do they will still govern your existence. Your aim is to master each of the seven Universal Laws and only then learn to transcend the mutable ones.

1. The Law of Mentalism (Immutable): The first of the seven Universal Laws tells us that "The All is Mind - The Universe is Mental". That everything we see and experience in our physical world has its origin in the invisible, mental realm. It tells us that there is a single Universal Consciousness - the Universal Mind - from which all things manifest. All energy and matter at all levels is created by and is subordinate to the Omnipresent Universal Mind. Your mind is part of the Universal Mind - the same in kind with the only difference being one of degree. Your reality is a manifestation of your mind. This is true Mind Power.

2. The Law of Correspondence (Immutable): The second of the seven Universal Laws tells us "As above, so below; as below, so above". This means that there is "harmony, agreement and correspondence" between the physical, mental and spiritual realms. There is no separation since everything in the Universe, including you, originates from the One Source. The same pattern is expressed on all planes of existence from the smallest electron to the largest star and vice versa. All is One. The Ancient Greek Temple of Apollo at Delphi was referring to this great Law of Correspondence in the inscription "Know thyself and thou shalt know all the mysteries of the gods and the Universe".

3. The Law of Vibration (Immutable): The third of the seven Universal Laws tells us that "Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates". The third and last of the immutable Universal Laws, tells us that "the whole universe is but a vibration". Science has confirmed that everything in the Universe, including you, is pure energy vibrating at different frequencies.

The axiom that "like energy attracts like energy", upon which the Law of Attraction is based, has it's foundation in this Law. Everything that we experience with our five physical senses is conveyed through vibrations. The same applies to the mental realm. Your thoughts are vibrations. All your emotions are vibrations where "unconditional love" (in the sense of love for another) is the highest and most subtle of the emotional vibrations and "hate" is the densest and most base. You can learn to control your mental vibrations at will. This is true thought power.

4. The Law of Polarity (Mutable): The fourth of the seven Universal Laws tells us that "Everything is dual, everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree". It is also the first of the mutable or transcendable Universal Laws. It means that there are two sides to everything. Things that appear as opposites are in fact only two extremes of the same thing. For instance, heat and cold may appear to be opposites at first glance, but in truth they are simply varying degrees of the same thing. The same applies to love and hate, peace and war, positive and negative, good and evil, yes and no, light and darkness, energy and matter. You can transform your thoughts from hate to love, from fear to courage by consciously raising your vibrations. This is what in the ancient Hermetic Teachings is called the Art of Polarization.

Rising Above the Law of Polarity: This Principle of Duality may appear to be very real in your life but it operates only in the physical and mental realms, not in the spiritual realm where All is One. As it says in the Bhagavad-Gita, "God is Above the Opposites". By always placing the all-powerful, all-knowing Great Spirit of which you are a part behind your every thought, statement and action, and by always focusing on the "good", even when things appear to be going "bad", then in time you will rise above the Law of Polarity.

5. The Law of Rhythm (Mutable): The fifth of the seven Universal Laws tells us that "Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates." It is the second of the mutable or transcendable Universal Laws and means that the pendulum swings in everything. This principle can be seen in operation in the waves of the ocean, in the rise and fall of the greatest empires, in business cycles, in the swaying of your thoughts from being positive to negative and in your personal successes and failures. In accordance with this Law, when anything reaches a point of culmination then the backward swing begins almost unnoticeably until such time that any forward movement has been totally reversed, then the forward movement begins again and the process is repeated.

Rising Above the Law of Rhythm: To transcend the swing of the pendulum, you must become aware of the subtle start of the backward movement in any of your endeavours whether it be to improve your health, your finances, your relationships or any goal you may set in motion. When you feel the Law start to draw you back do not become fearful or discouraged. Instead, knowing that you are one with the Omnipotent Universal Mind for which nothing is impossible, keep your thoughts focused on your outcome and fight to remain positive no matter how far back this transitory Law pulls you. Even if your efforts meet with failure, find comfort that by virtue of this very same Law, the upward motion must start again. In time, your perseverance will be rewarded as the backward movements become less negative relative to your previous backward swings and you raise yourself higher.

6. The Law of Cause and Effect (Mutable): The sixth of the seven Universal Laws tells us that "Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause." In accordance with this Law, every effect you see in your outside or physical world has a very specific cause which has its origin in your inner or mental world. This is the essence of thought power. Every one of your thoughts, words or actions sets a specific effect in motion which will come to materialize over time. To become the master of your destiny, you must master your mind for everything in your reality is a mental creation. Know that there is nothing like chance or luck. They are simply terms used by humanity in ignorance of this Law.

Your Intentions are Instantly Created: The Law of Cause and Effect applies on all three planes of existence - the spiritual, the mental and the physical. The difference is that on the spiritual plane cause and effect are instantaneous such that they appear inseparable, whereas on the other planes our concept of time and space creates a time lag between the cause and the eventual effect. Know that when you focus on your chosen goals with intention using creative visualization, that which you want to create in the physical world is automatically manifested in the spiritual world, and with perseverance, practice and continued concentrated thought, it will also come to materialize in the physical world.

7. The Law of Gender: The last of the seven Universal Laws tells us that "Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles". This mutable Universal Law is evident throughout creation in the so-called opposite sexes found not only in human beings but also in plants, minerals, electrons and magnetic poles to name but a few. Everything and everyone contains both masculine and feminine elements. Among the outward expressions of feminine qualities are love, patience, intuition and gentleness and of masculine qualities are energy, self reliance, logic and intellect. Know that within every woman lie all the latent qualities of a man, and within every man those of a woman. When you know this you will know what it means to be complete.

The Law of Attraction as Part of the Equation: You will notice that the Law of Attraction is not specifically mentioned as one of the seven Universal Laws. This is not to diminish its importance but rather to highlight it because the Law of Attraction is the basic Law of the Universe which runs through all the seven Universal Laws discussed here. It holds everything together. It is through the knowledge of the Law of Attraction that one can rise above the mutable Laws of Polarity and Rhythm and gain a better understanding of each of the seven Universal Laws.

Credit to The Science of Being and The Kybalion: This article draws largely on two sources of incomparable wisdom on the seven Universal Laws. First, on the Baron Eugene Fersen's 1923 masterpiece, The Science of Being, which is one of most comprehensive books ever written on the innate power of humanity, the subject of metaphysics and self-mastery; and second, on the 1908 seminal work on the Universal Principles, namely The Kybalion, which is a study of The Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece, itself based on the mystical teachings of Hermes Trismegistus and written by the so-called Three Initiates.

"The Principles of the Truth are Seven; he who knows these, understandingly, possesses the Magic Key before whose touch all the Doors of the Temple fly open" - The Kybalion

There are seven major Universal Laws by which the entire Universe is governed - three are immutable, eternal Laws and four are transitory, mutable Laws. As stated in the Kybalion "the Universe exists by virtue of these Laws, which form its framework and which hold it together." Knowing these Universal Laws and the basic Law of Attraction, and learning how to transcend the mutable Laws, is fundamental to changing the circumstances of your life so that you can consciously create your intended reality and achieve true mastery.

8 Ways to Raise Your Home’s Vibration

Source: http://thespiritscience.net/2015/03/29/8-ways-to-raise-your-homes-vibration/

Ever walked into a beautifully put together, comfortable home that really speaks to you? Where you see all the items have been placed in harmony with one another to create a balanced feng shui. These are the kinds of spaces we need to be creating! If you want to create an uplifting environment in your home, these are the steps to take!

1. Clean and give things away
120326124540-fake-clean-house-story-top

Start out by scanning all the rooms in your home. When you clean and organize everything, by touching and giving all your items attention energetically; you are charging the environment. Look at everything you have and assess what you really need.

Are there old objects of all kinds lying around that could be donated and utilized more efficiently by another? Don’t be afraid or feel guilty for letting go, it’s the cycle of life.

2. Burn Incense

Burning different herbs or incense sticks not only creates a wonderful, relaxing smell; it raises the vibration of the space.

Everything is made up of different frequencies of energy so when you combine your intent with an action of smudging something like sage, that creates a high level of energy that can translate to feeling calm, happy, simply feeling good from enjoying the smell.

3. Decorate!
deluxe-hippie-bedroom-design-ZfKGg

Make your space an extension of you; who you are, what you like and how you express all of it. What speaks to your soul the most?

I absolutely love futuristic, sleek, minimalistic houses that are ultramodern yet still dreamy. At the same time, the old history-holding victorian, creaky wood houses are equally amazing.

At my core, I love the colorful tapestries, pink himalayan salt lamps, crystals of all kinds and those awesome hanging bead doors.

Choose things that you feel represent a part of yourself and express it boldly!

4. Meditate

Meditating or charging the space energetically either through intent or action raises your vibration which ripples out through the environment.

When you feel uplifted, excited or even relaxed and blissful; the energy you emit blends with the energy of the space.

Everything is connected, our solid, 3D reality is an ever shifting soup of energy when you can see it from that perspective! So meditate; it literally emits light from our bodies.

5. Essential Oils

It’s fun going to the store and smelling all the pungent aromas of essential oils. Which ones smell the best to you? Find the smells that evoke a certain memory, feeling or urge to just buy it.
Certain smells remind me of my childhood and others I’ve never even heard of! You can get an oil diffuser to get the smell around or just tab some on a cloth and run it along some wood trim in the room. It’s nice to do that around your bed frame.

6. Get Plants

Plants are awesome, beautiful, fun, and make a space look amazing! If you’re able to go out and buy a bunch of beautiful hanging plants, colorful ones and even some seeds for food; do it!
They clean the air, plus they are alive and so much more in tune than we realize. Being surrounded by that kind of consciousness is amazing for the vibration of the space.

7. Play Music

What kind of music do you like? Really nice, instrumental music can help keep a vibe a calm but uplifting at the same time. If you were to play rap or metal at a certain time, what would that shift the vibe to?

Feel out the energy of the room and match the kind of music that fits the mood. Sometimes fast, upbeat dance music is exactly what a room needs to transform it!

Team-Spirit

8. Create a Space for Connection

What if your space was the place all your closest friends gathered to connect.

This could look like having incredible, transformative talks to just hanging out playing video games. What brings you and your loved ones closer together?

If you’re able to create a sacred space of fun, uplifting connection then be that facilitator of growth; it’s an amazing and powerful position to put yourself in. When you bring out the best in everyone through that power, then you are changing the world through your space.

The Difference Between Duality and Polarity

One of these is essential to the way the physical realm works, the other is nothing more than a two-dimensional belief system. Some people use the terms duality and polarity interchangeably, but I’m going to make a strong distinction between the two for the sake of clarity.

The first thing to understand about duality is that it divides, it’s either one thing or the other. Black or white, right or wrong, good or evil. It does this through judgement, separating things and creating conflict.
Duality is how human beings, who have much more in common than not, are convinced to fight with and even kill each other. Duality is used to create an “us versus them” mentality.
Now polarity is something else entirely. Where duality has a positive and negative that conflict with each other, polarity has a positive and negative that attract each other. In the case of what recently happened with our Sun’s poles, they can even switch places. Polarity is complimentary forces that work together to create balance, duality is the belief in opposing forces that conflict with each other and create chaos.
In duality one is “better” or “above” another, and this is responsible for so much suffering on the Planet. Some people believe they’re more worthy, more deserving than others, and they take far more than they need. People compare themselves to others, and judge themselves as being “better” or “worse”, which leads to an inflated ego or hating oneself. If you really want peace in your life, I recommend letting go of duality altogether.
Where duality divides things into black or white, polarity includes the full spectrum, it’s all inclusive.
gaia10
Duality takes thespectrum and draws a line somewhere, cutting it in half. Duality really only exists in the mind, it doesn’t directly relate to the physical realm. What people call “evil” is only the product of not seeing clearly, it’s human judgement, not something inherent to the Universe itself. What is “evil” varies from culture to culture, and also between individuals. It changes over time, as people minds and opinions change.
The only darkness is that which you can’t see, what you don’t know. It’s the fear of the unknown that makes darkness menacing and “evil”. Your eyes only see a tiny fraction of the full spectrum of light, and yet all the light you cannot see you call “darkness”. This is a perfect example of why people believe in duality, it’s a product of limited perception. It’s a judgement based upon limited senses, people see only a tiny fraction of Reality and make assumptions about the whole thing.
16736_1_miscellaneous_digital_art_water_vs_fire

Understanding vibration is key to understanding polarity. Take a guitar string for instance, is a low pitch “bad” and a high pitch “good”? That’s a lot like how duality interprets things. With polarity, you go up and down the full scale to make a beautiful song, the low notes complimenting the high notes.
This is a “secret” to how Creation works, not through opposing forces, but Everything coming together to create a beautiful song.

Meditation For Lightworkers
Meditation For Lightworkers
• Love nature, plants, & animals
• Generally not afraid of death or dying
• Not religious, though have a strong sense and understanding of spirituality

Do you or anyone you know fit these lightworker characteristics? If so, it is important to nourish, cultivate, and develop that special person’s abilities.

What is the number one thing a lightworker needs for maximum potential activation?

Meditation. The best way to achieve divine source reconnection while in human form, meditation is the key for any lightworker to spread their powerful wings.

How long does it take to learn meditation?

Are You A Lightworker
Are You A Lightworker

What if, with just the press of a button, you could have access to the same deep, highly pleasurable, extremely beneficial meditative states as someone with decades of meditative experience? And achieve a super fertile lightworker-nurturing environment in much, much less time, including a limitless number of other life -enhancing benefits?
