We should train and control the astral-emotional body by the aid of the mind, illuminated by the Soul.
What is magic? Magic is all about materializing or dematerializing (appearance and disappearance), manifesting and demanifesting. Making your thought forms appear or disappear. In a way, this whole planet is a magic.
If we are aspiring people, our soul is located in the lotus plane. For average person, their soul is still focused materially in the 3rd. If we become advanced humanity and we approach the 1st initiation, the lotus changes its frequency and therefore he is able to focus or sustain its position on 2nd subplane.
When you get to the very highest level of the mental plane, you are in another category all together. Then it is no longer about the Solar Angel, it is about the Spiritual Triad. The Spiritual Triad deals with the Abstract Mind on the very highest level of the mental plane.
Impersonal (beyond our personal, beyond individual identity) world correlates with the Spiritual Triad. How would we know if we are responsive to the Spiritual Triad? It would be about the life of the big being in whom we live and move and have our being.
Personal ---> Transpersonal ---> Transcendental
Personal ---> Individual ----> Impersonal
If we rise up into the Spiritual Triad, we forget ourselves, even our soul, we forget our egoic nature. It's all sacrifice. This is the life of God. The Will of God is what counts. The greater Love of God is what counts. The Mind of God has a different angle on things.
The truly impersonal life doesn't begin until after the 3rd initiation and not even truly until the 4th initiation. The gain of the impersonal life is incredible. When we build the antahkarana, that's on the way to the impersonal life.
Let's shift the balance to the 2nd ray now, the Soul ray of our planet. The 4th initiation is being taken in our chain on our globe, and it is not a comfortable initiation. Eruption of all the lower forces is accompanied by the steadfast will of Vulcan, powerful at the 4th initiation. We need spiritual will, we need an anchor. We need to stand in spiritual being.
